The nurse aide program is structured to prepare the students with skills and abilities to provide basic care to residents in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health setting. The students will learn to perform CPR, basic first aide, obtain vital signs, infection control measures, importance of a resident’s rights, and proper body mechanics. The students are prepared to meet the requirements necessary to pass the State Exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Texas.
Day students will attend class Monday through Thursday from 8:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M for an estimated time of 6 weeks. Students will be provided a 30 minute meal time from 12:00 to 12:30. Students will have a 10 minute break each hour after 50 minutes of instruction.
Evening students attend class Monday through Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M for estimated time of 6 weeks. Students will have a 10 minute break each hour after 50 minutes of instruction.
